Look at us. Look at us as a people, a society. The Mighty Words that the Father of Glory sent to heal, have become dangerously divisive words that bring spite, resentment, and confusion. The people God chose are continually leaning to our own understanding, denying the Lord that brought them. We are HIS PEOPLE and the sheep of HIS PASTURE, yet our goat-like disciplines are driving us deeper down slopes of sinfulness, hopelessly wandering in the valley in the shadow of death. Look at us. Someone is either not praying at all, or asking only for their wicked hearts’ desires when they bow before the Throne of Mercy. Look at us. Really look at us brothers and sisters. This is not the way. Someone is not praying
Luke 18:1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; 2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: 3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. 4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; 5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. 7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? 8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
Men ought ALWAYS to pray – ALWAYS is everywhere, at all time, always and evermore. In the morning man should be found praying. Throughout his daily activities man should be found praying. At evening, late evening, and in the night hours should be found crying out to the Lord our God that He may heal us! My course of conversation with the Creator is not so selfishly suited that the focus is on His healing of me. Our FATHER, GIVE US THIS DAILY OUR DAILY BREAD. LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION. DELIVER US FROM EVIL. forgive us our debt….. “OUR” and “US” ringing like majestic bells from the hopeful heart that calls to God for all that stand in need knowing it is not HIS will that any should perish.
Let us find what the instructions were to the Ephesians….
Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints
Again we find, this saint suited in full battle ready armour, yet without PRAYER, he is a miserable example of faithfulness, holiness, or perseverance. Truth about the loin without prayer will not sustain him for long. The breastplate alone will not do. To shod the feet in preparedness, to hold firmly the shield of FAITH and wield the Eternal Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God, none of all these apart from the next will enable this warrior to fight the good fight for long. They all complete and make ready the good soldier. The last of them all, often most overlooked, the necessity and discipline of PRAYER. Praying Always is what we read. Once again, MEN OUGHT ALWAYS TO PRAY
If we pray in the Spirit, it will be evidenced in the fruit the Spirit bears, not the form of fruit we pretentiously show off to one another. As the tree that brings forth fruit in its season, we have absolutely no control over the frequency of fruit bearing, the measure of fruit bearing, or even the time of pruning. We are but branches yielded, submitted in hope He find us worthy. We are giving instructions, let us take heed
John 15:1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. 3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
To ABIDE in Him(Jesus Christ the Lord of Glory), for without Him, we can do nothing. No fruit comes forth without Him. No armour serves purpose without Him. There is no blessedness of much fruit without Him. Laboring in His Word and surrendering to Him in prayer brings forth much fruit, fruit that remains and brings Glory to the One that makes fruit to come forth.
What is the fruit?
James 3:14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. 15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. 16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
A great number of people will read this and skim over it like their striving with their brothers is justified. They will read this and excuse their envying toward their brethren in the gospel to make themselves some exclusive level of righteousness, when they could not be further from the truth of who CHRIST is. They pray hardly. They give no time to fasting and seeking the power of God through faithful surrender and they go about to establish their own righteousness. Shame on that wise man filled with this earthly, sensual and devilish wisdom.
James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. 18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
The fruit from above is first pure, knowing that only the pure in heart shall see God. If then my heart is not pure, how count myself worthy of inspecting impurities so meticulously in those around me? How am I so preoccupied with the specks in my brothers eyes, while me vision is smothered in logs and lumber? The man of God prays through slumber times and petitions the Lord for all men, for kings sand all those in authority. For democrats and republicans. For Jew and Greek. He cries to God for Shem, for Ham, and for Japheth because his heart is purified.
He calls unto the Lord while his nephew Lot still slumbers in the midst of a prospering city steeped in wickedness. He calls unto the Lord while the nation is hid away in Babylon, giving themselves to Babylonian festivities. The fruit of wisdom that comes from yielding himself to the Lord in prayer is PEACEABLE, GENTLE, EASY TO BE INTREATED, FULL OF MERCY AND GOOD FRUITS. How then is this such an obscured quality in the believer? How now have we been reduced to a people that yearns for good arguments and debates? Somebody is not praying.
Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
Somebody is not praying family. Somebody has turned the truth of God into a lie and taken up the sweet Words of salvation to use them maliciously. That is of the DEVIL. Your ways are wicked, turn to the Father. Your wise Words are good for nothing but trodden under foot, not being seasoned with salt. Your self proclaimed holiness is hell fire preserved for that day, that glorious day when the world shall fear and shake at the coming of the Lord God Almighty
May the Lord turn our hearts, teach us humility, help us to walk in His ways in Jesus name
